Share

February 18th, 2009 by Keith Hutchinson

Construction on the new bridge over Berry Creek on Oak Tree Drive is expected to begin in March and will be completed and opened for traffic in 10 months, weather permitting. During the construction period, the crossing over Berry Creek at Oak Tree Drive will be closed.

At the February 10 meeting, the city council approved a construction bid from A Greater Austin Development Company for $931,163 to build the bridge as shown below.

Is construction start still planned for March?
The Berry Creek Club Manager has communicated that a re-bid was to take place and construction would not start until April/May….please clarify. Thank.s

The Project has not been re-bid and is going forth. There are some logistical matters which have postponed the beginning of construction. Some preparatory construction work will be done prior to the annual Berry Creek Golf Tournament, but the brunt of construction has been postponed until after completion of the Tournament, beginning Monday, April 20.
